looking for car key advise

Im wondering if anyone can help me or give advice. I bought a 2006 toyota yaris from arnold clark a year and a half ago, there was only one key with it. The key was cracked from day one but has now finally fell to bits and iv lost the middle part with the imoboliser code stuff on it. My car now wont start, arnold clark informed me that the previous owner lost the spare key. I am now looking at an independant company to come out for a costly £350 to reset the code so I can start my car with a different key they will provide. Iv read that there is a way of re programming a key to your car. If I bought a toyota yaris key from eBay would I be able to re program it with my car so that I can start the car and be able to drive again?

It would have been better to get Arnold Clark to replace the damaged key when you bought the car, but obviously it is too late now. 

There are a number of methods to re-programme keys and it will be trial and error to find out whether or if any of these will work. Please see -

can the mobile company also not provide you with a second key?
