Exhaust blowing

Hi,

I recently picked up a 2002 Yaris 1.5 T Sport and it has developed an exhaust blow between the joint connecting the exhaust manifold and 

first section of the exhaust. It's fine when ticking over and cruising, but as soon as I accelerate it starts blowing. The whole exhaust has been replaced with the exception of the manifold.

I have taken it to a garage and they replaced the gasket between the two, that lasted for about a mile before it started doing it again.

Could it be a problem with the new exhaust not fitting the older, possibly worn manifold?

I don't really want to keep taking it into a garage for a 5 minute fix.

Check the manifold for cracks. If there are any, movement when warm will break any seal.

Out of interest & without wanting to derail this topic,  did you replace the exhaust & if so is it a direct oem replacement & do you know how much it cost?
