My old 2001 Yaris 1.0 hates me.

Due to a bad exhaust valve, the head have been removed, repaired and reinstalled.

After that, the engine will start sometimes just a bit, like a 2-3 seconds and dies again, sometimes not at all.

Allmost like its missing fuel, but I had the injection valve removed from the top and fuel ejects out fine.

Plugs also ignites fine.

I made my own marks on the cam chain, pulley, cams etc and kept tension on the chain - i'm sure it's correct.
Also matches following I googled -  the crankshaftpulley mark at 0, both cam mark are pointing straight up - like this

Could I in another way have messed fuel distribution up, like wrong order or something.

Bad sensor, wire or something.

Did you replace the timing ring  correctly behind the crankshaft pulley?

Problem solved.

When tightning the screws for the timing chain cover, the liquid sealer had flown out and clogged the holes between the top and the vvt control valve. Probably meaning that the oil couldent return from the vvt cam, so the pressure just got higher and higher until the ignition didnt match the rpm and the engine died.

Didnt have to remove the cover again, I just started/cranked the engine with the vvt solenoid out, and the plugs was pushed out into the solenoid chamber.

Lesson learned - be very careful not to use too much sealer in that area.

regards
