Starter motor identification

Hello

my starter motor has been gradually failing and now has pretty much gone - it needs a bump start every time.

2 x new batteries so not that. I bought a new starter motor but the mechanic said it was missing a bracket on the back of it. Part supplier says that the part is correct as far as they can tell and are helpful.

Mechanic says they will need to take the old one off to get a part number which is in itself a fairly big job and I think I could do with the part before he takes it to bits.

Its a 2000 hilux 2.4td double cab

i should add I am mechanically inept here...any clues as to part number or is mechanic maybe wrong?

Thanks in anticipation
