I guys, 6 month ago i bought myself my 2nd yaris. 2012 1.3 manual with 13k on the clock. Now i am a well built fella but for the life of me my clutch pedal is so hard to press. I took it back to RRG Toyota where it was purchased. a few hours later they called me. I went to pick it up and there is no change. heavy clutch pedal. my wife refuse's to drive it now as even she struggles with the pressure needed to depress the pedal. Can anyone help, ie is there a problem or are all clutch pedals this heavy on the newer Yaris ?

Hello Chris - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

After RRG looked at the clutch, what did they say when you collected it - did they say what they'd done, whether they found any fault, or ........?

My 2014 Yaris d4d is fine. As has been said, question the dealer.

Thankyou for the welcome

Frostyballs..The dealer said "we have adjusted the pedal but there is little difference. we also adjusted your gear linkage" ?.  In my opinion they didn't look at it at all.

Infact starting today the pedal has started a creaking/clicking noise when i press it down. if this Yaris has a clutch cable how its holding up i am unsure.

yours thankfully Mr UnHappy  :)

PS, being the main dealer how can I argue my case " they know best" or so i am led to believe.

There must be a problem. Stand your ground. Perhaps get a second opinion.

Some members in the Auris club who have had a clicking from the clutch pedal, have had the master cylinder replaced which cured the problem.

I'd either go back to your dealer or another dealer and raise the question .....

thank you frostyballs, I think i'll go for a indapendant check to see what they think. If it is the master cylinder. would anyone know if that will be covered under Toyota's 5 year warranty ?

Bear in mind that an independent's opinion may differ to a Toyota dealer's, and the two may not agree. By involving a third party all you could be doing is sowing more doubt. Either stay with your present Toyota dealer or use another Toyota dealer, and if it is the master cylinder, it should be covered under the new car warranty provided your car has an adequate service history.
