Avensis t-spirit. High pitched whirring from gearbox

Hi. I have got a avensis t-spirit D4D and only had it a few weeks. There is a constant whirring noise coming from the gearbox when I drive it. The gearbox has just been changed too. Any ideas would be great fully received

This could be any number of issues really. Doors the noise change with the engine or road speed? How would you describe the noise in more detail? Are there any other symptoms you can think of?

Oh yes, is the noise there with the car idling in neutral?

Yeah it does when idling and you press the accelerator. It has just had a second hand gearbox fitted to it and wanted some information on it before I take it back to them

Did they remember to fill the gearbox with the correct oil after they changed it?
