Silencing Toyota Parking Aid (TPA400)?

The wife has got the TPA400 on her 2006 Aygo Sport.

It's been buggered since she bought the car second hand, and just beeps at a rate of about 2 times a second. It will do this until it's taken out of reverse.

I have looked through the Toyota online TPA troubleshooting guide and it doesn't appear to cover this scenario. Anyway, she wants it disconnected and I was wondering if someone could advise me of the easiest way to stop the beeps when reversing.

If the beeper unit is easy enough to get to without ripping out half a ton of interior, then I'm happy to disconnect the beeper.

Otherwise, is there a fuse I can pull out, or a power cable I can disconnect?

Quite often with rear parking sensors there is a switch to disable the sensors hidden either behind the rear bumper or the trim inside the boot.

I've had a quick look behind the rear bumper, and a look on the left hand side where the unit beeper sounds, but can't see anything obvious.

I'm reluctant to start removing trim unless I know it will access the control unit. Although they are good little cars, the trim fittings are a bit on the flimsy side.

If I remove the vertical carpet trim on the left hand side of the boot, will the control unit be visible?

Have a look by the reversing light

possibly may also have a switch by the steering wheel (my Avensis does).
