I have a Yaris D4D model 2013 STYLE , with 195/50/16 tyres and toyota alu rims, this dimension is expensive. Can I change them with 185/60/15 ? I will change the rims to 15 inch metal. I dont care about the looks.

Will I have any problem with ABS etc and the warranty to?

Rolling size about the same, so you'd be ok there.  Best to check that the smaller wheels would fit over the brake calipers. I don't see how it would affect the ABS.  Not sure about the warranty.

The variation in price isn't too great -

Obviously the warranty won't cover the changed components. You will have to notify your insurers - they may consider this a modification and may charge an extra premium.

Wouldn't have thought the difference in price of the tyres, the cost of the replacement wheels, and a possible insurance premium increase, would save much, if any.

You would have to inform your insurer who may vary your premium.

The cost of buying extra wheels is going to negate the savings of cheaper tyres ... (& the s/h value of your car will drop when you come to sell if not on it's original wheels)

One more think I live in Greece, we dont need to inform anyone here, the tyre dimensions are not even written in the car registration.

So the only concern for me is if they work fine. I know that the breaking in dry road will be longer. But overall I think I will get more comfort in trip and cheaper tyres.

The one I see here in Greece is for 195/50/16 Pirelli P1 Verde, witch I can find for 450€, and for 185/60/15 the same Brant for about 290€. My plan is to change tyres every 2 years. I make about 25.000Km (15.500 miles) per year.

One more think is the metal rim witch is very cheap to replace in case of an accident, or a damage from holes on the road.
