MPG figures for Yaris Hybrid models

I am interested to hear/read about peoples mpg figures of their Yaris Hybrid models.

According to Honest John the real average mpg is 58. I can only achieve 55. However, it is going up now so perhaps it's time for me to reset the average mpg figure?

It has certainly never got remotely close to 70 or even 65 for that matter.

What are your Average/Best/Worst figures?

Mine would be 55/62/47 that is over 2,000 miles of mixed (city and motorway) driving.

In my case, I have never relied on the indicated trip computer reading as it is grossly inaccurate. My figures are based always on neck to neck fill ups to exactly the same amount (and I don't mean relying on the pump auto cut-off either...) and you can see the same figures on my Fuelly web page...

Average/Best/Worst for me would be 49.4/54.1/44.2 (total of 6,700 miles tracked)

I have only ever seen one journey clock up something over 60 mpg since I bought the car and that was returning from my mother's over a year ago in poor weather with mixed snow/ice (= slow steady motoring) and from filling up before we left to pulling into our drive, I saw 64.5 mpg on the trip computer after 122 miles but of course, I couldn't sustain this average once I started on the more normal short local trips but this did eventually translate into my best (above) figure so far of 54.1mpg for one tankful... My current average over the last 10 fill ups is 50.4 so your indicated 55 (usually optimistic) is probably about equivalent.

Yeah, the only car I've ever driven whose real world mpg was close to the quoted is my Mk1 D4D :P

From the information I've received from Pete's post about the 2016 Prius Test Notes. It would appear that the onboard MPG calculator overestimates by 4% around 4-6mpg. I have calculated my consumption (of 340 miles from a 30 litre fill) at 51.5. However the car reads an average of 55.3 but this is over lots of tankfuls and about 1000 miles. Perhaps it would be more accurate by calculating per tank.

I've signed up to Fuelly and will be interested to see what I can get.

My usual journeys are a 6 mile commute (12 round trip) on mostly flat ground with about 3 of those 6 being 50mph and the other 3 being 30 and under city driving.

I have driven to Gatwick before that was about a 200 mile round trip on motorways and the reading went down by about 1-2mpg (according to the on-board computer). That was using the cruise control at 70 and the 50 stretch on the M3.

I probably annoy a lot of people (waiting in line...) when I'm filling up because the last couple of litres always takes an age to get the fill up completed without any spillage and so that I can see about an inch of fuel above the bottom of the neck when I'm finished (just to keep some sort of consistency with my measurements). There's always quite a few air locks along the way during filling...
