Front Brakes

A bit of advice please; I won a 2005 D4D Yaris, 90k, lovely reliable car.  It needs new front discs and pads and I was wondering whether there is a 'how to' guide somewhere? My car has drums at the rear, vented discs at the front.  I have changed pads before on a previous Yaris which was a doddle, are the discs easy to change also please? Any good sources for these items which are good quality at a reasonable price? The drivers side dust cover/shield is also, very badly rusted, so, really, should be replaced at the same time. Any ideas where to get one/pair from please? Thanks in advance.

The brake disc shield is prone to rusting; Mine are pretty rusty too.

There are loads of video guides on YouTube on how to change them if you search for it there. It's pretty simple; Just remove the wheel, remove and secure the caliper, two screws and the tap of a hammer and the disc will pop off.

I bought my pads and discs from EBC but you can get them from Toyota directly too.

Kingo (Parts_King) can probably get you a discount on Toyota original ones if you PM him. He might be able to source you the shield too, but IIRC they are extortionately expensive.

Thanks for the response; I did look at the very first very good YouTube clip which comes up and it was excellent. Did the job yesterday, pretty straightforward, no stuck or rusted solid bolts! The only advice I would give to someone who has not done the job before is that on the video, it shows merely the top of the brake fluid reservoir being removed prior to the caliper piston being compressed back in. Either the guy has the strength of Garth or its a pretty new caliper/piston!  I used one of those one man bleed kits, opened the bleed nipple right up, then and only then did the piston shift back in!!
