Hi,

my verso 1.8 Cvt 2015 has very quiet indicator sound and above tick over cannot be heard. This means always checkin visually they have cancelled. Told Toyota customer service and they say no standard for loudness is required and basically they aren't bothered. Spoke to auto election who said could fit beeper fo £90. Would this invalidate warranty? Anyone have same problem?

Hi

just to add to my previous post. Having searched this site for similar problems it appears it is an ongoing problem with several models. On my previous car an Astra you could actually adjust the sound level for them, why can't Toyota do something similar. As I said they very blasé about it when I contacted them. This could contribute to a serious accident if drivers forget to check they're cancelled. Surprisingly there doesn't appear to be a audible level standard set by the relevant authorities.

It was something I queried with my dealer when I purchased my first Verso in 2009 ... and like you, got a metaphorical shrug of the shoulders - "it's just how it is, there isn't any adjustment to make".

Now on my second Verso - and 7 years older = more hard of hearing!

However I have found a solution (don't know about a beeper) - I drive with my wife in the passenger seat, and she doesn't waste a second in cancelling my indicators!

PS - I think the heading should be Verso indicator INAUDIBLE warning :-)

Hi

thanks for comment. Must confess I am of the older generation but younger passengers have commented they seem quiet. Had a verso in 2005 which son now has and can hear that fine.
