2000 CE auto 4spd..removed console locksout/.still only starts in neutral

Aloha,

I have a 2000 Corolla CE four speed automatic which I just detailed and painted black cherry pearl. It would not come out of Park so I disconnected the safety switch under the console. Now I can get it into neutral to start, but Park still doesn't work

The neutral safety switch adjustment diagram doesn't seem to match my engine. Is the adjustment hidden somewhere like under the plastic valve cover? Can I just tighten up with a cable hits the engine a little bit? I've got the whole thing apart in pieces awaiting your answer.
