trc off and vsc light

hi all

ive read all the other posts on these two lights and seems to cover a varity of issues.... heres what happen with my 2008 avensis 2.0 d4d yesterday. ..

i was driving along the motorway at about 60mph with cruise control... it was raining very heavy and there was alot of surface water on the road.... then I felt a slight blip. .. like a lost of drive to the wheels for a split second... car continued to drive on fine... not sure if those two lights came on at that time but I noticed them some time later ... I stopped the car for 30 mins and then made a two hr return journey lights were on all the way home.

parked up at home for 3 hrs took it out for an hr drive lights were off this time.

some history :I have 177k miles on the clock, 3/4 block replaced by Toyota at 115k, front left wheel bearing was done 3k miles ago... they did mention at the time they had trouble with the hub sensor but drilled it out to insert it again.

I service the car myself every 10k... oil filters etc I clean out the egr valve every 10k also.

goodyear eagle f1s all around fitted in jan 2016 with 4k miles on them.... they are slightly bigger than the originals 225 45 r17 not the 215 50 r17.... been using them for a few years with no issues... cld it be the oversized tyres on a slippy road?

I didn't have an engine management light just trc off light ans vsc light... should I be expecting an expensive repair... ive read all the posts from injector pump failure to the dreaded head gasket failure again.... is it time to upgrade? I wld like to hang onto car since I had it from new... any advice lad?

Vsc and trc on but mil off do suggest abs related issue. I don't believe in coincidence, and whatever they did to your abs sensor doesn't sound good. Really your best foot forward would be to have the code read by someone who has a box that can read the abs codes. Most cheap boxes will not do this. Mr T will likely want a couple of limbs, so suggest Indy.
