Corolla 2002 Sun Roof Problem

Hiya,

I have been looking around on the forum for a while and can't seem to find anyone with the same issue...

My Sunroof has started exhibiting some strange behavior.

1. When I press the button to slide back the sunroof does so, but only goes back about 3 inches (not as far as the mid point where I used to have to press the button again). Further pressing of the slide back button causes nothing to happen. If I press the auto / forward / tilt button it only moves while I hold it down (not auto close). If I hold the button down it does successfully close though (phew).
2. When I press the tilt button, the sunroof tilts up, it used to stop when it reached maximum. Unfortunately now, with no further button presses, then sunroof automatically goes back to the flat position and then slides open by about 3 inches.

I have attempted the whole press the auto button and turn off the ignition thing to try to reset where the car thinks the sunroof is, but that hasn't seemed to help.

Does any one have any idea / suggestions?
