Hi gang,

I'm looking to smarten up my Mark 1 D4-D a little with some new wheels. Will a set of alloys from an 08' Yaris fit mine?

Cheers,

Dean

They're 185/60 R16's on them. Mine has 175/55 R14s.

That's nearly 15% larger diameter. Far too much in my opinion. It'll mean you're doing more than 80MPH when your speedo reads 70.

You'd need to fit something like 175/40 to the 16" wheels to get a similar rolling radius: http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html

Mmm, that's not going to work then really. Not an easy tire size to find. Thanks.

you would need to drop to 185/45 R15 to give you exactly the same rolling radius as your existing 14". There appears to be 1 tyre made in that size & it's not 1 that I would fit on my car.

In addition, your ride & fuel economy will suffer & of course you would need to inform your insurer who may vary your premium.

Yep, I've realised that it's not going to be a decent option. I'm going to try and source a set of the original alloys for the mark 1 instead.

What about some T-Sport alloys?

There are some on eBay that I'm watching, but I think I'd have a similar issue with tyres.
