Best way to empty fuel from my old Avensis

Hi guys I have a 2001 Toyota Avensis which I am going to scrap as the engine sized on Saturday night.
It has a nearly full tank of petrol. I tried putting hose down fuel fill neck but I think there is an anti-syphon device installed as it wouldn't go very far in.

Can anyone advise what is best way of getting the fuel out please?

Many thanks in advance

Dave

Lift the rear seat and you can access the fuel pump/sender. Keep all the doors open to vent the fumes, then remove the pump/sender and syphon from there.

Thank you Konrad for advice. I tried to do this yesterday but there was what looked like a bonded cover with no access screws. I am uncertain if I should prise this cover off to access the pump/sender unit. If you have any guidance how I should proceed I would welcome it.

Lift the rear seat and you can access the fuel pump/sender. Keep all the doors open to vent the fumes, then remove the pump/sender and syphon from there.

Use a tool to lever the cover. It is held by plastic retainers. Underneath you will need a spanner to disconnect the pipes and a socket to undo the nuts securing the sender to the fuel tank.

I retained my Haynes manual after selling the Mk1.
