Switch inside left side of boot..what is it for?

I have just bought my 8th Toyota..this is a Avensis T4 Saloon D4D 2010...there is a small switch in the boot on the left side..can anybody tell me what this for as I cant see any details in handbook..is it related to fuel filler release maybe? Thanks in advance for any help 😊

Do you have rear parking sensors? If so, it could be the switch to turn the sensors off for when towing, etc.

Hiya..nothing seems to happen! It's got a 'P' on switch and 'off'...maybe it's trying to tell me something! Lol!

Way to test it - boot open, ignition on, engine off, engage reverse, walk across rear - and if the switch is at 'P', you will hear the sensors, if at 'off' you won't.
