Auris Cruise Control

Hi guys, I'm quite new to the forum, have been reading for a while but first time poster.  I've had a good search around before I ask this question but can't seem to find anyone who's had the same issues.  I read the excellent installation guide on how to fit your own cruise control stalk and went away, excited, and bought the parts hoping it would be a relatively quick job...however...I cannot seem to get the horn pad off.

I have a 13-plate Auris Sport, 1.6 Valvematic.  There is a little removable piece of plastic trim on the right hand side of the steering wheel only.  There are holes either side of the steering wheel, and one underneath.  When I pull away the plastic bit of trim, I cannot see any torx screws, nor any spring clips behind the holes.  I have shone a torch into the holes and can see only the empty void of the inside of the steering wheel with the odd wire running around in the background.  Does anyone else have a similar year Auris that can help please?

Thanks. Martin.

when i added CC to our Auris i turned the steering wheel through 180 degrees so the wheel is upside down

you can then access all 3 holes and remove the airbag

slide in the switch and secure with 2 screws

plug switch cable into the socket in steering wheel located on the right

put airbag back in wheel with a firm push
