Corolla Bike Rack?

Hi,

After wrestling my mountain bike into the boot (again) decided I need a rear bike rack. But I need something easily removable or that the rear arms detach or fold down, because my garage isn't long enough to have rack arms protruding from the back of the vehicle.

Not used these rear racks before - what is the opinion please - can you easily fit them and unfit them? I thought to begin with they were permanent fixtures but I don't think so because the rear wiper is obscured by them. So I'm hoping the rack (Thule Freeway 968?) is fairly easy to set up, take down again and - most important: *safe* :-o

Hi there,

Admittedly I have an E12 Corolla, but I have a Saris Bones 3 and it fits perfectly. Should still fit your Corolla, as I can mount mine on the slope of the rear window and it's still totally secure. It's a bit more expensive than the generic ones but lifetime warranty and excellent reviews made it a bit of a no-brainer for me. Assuming the generic ones use the same strap retention system they should work too.

They take about 3 mins to set-up and remove, and the Bones is fully collapsible and folds up into quite a compact size. I'd assume most other generic models would too!

Thanks, ended up buying a Thule 968, haven't tried it out yet - fingers crossed - will update ;)
