Avensis 2002: How to disable alarm

Can anyone help me disable the factory alarm on a Toyota Avensis GS VVT-I 2002? Hidden switch? Security button/ignition switch combinations? Fuses?

Occasionally, the alarm goes off by itself, usually at night when it is cold. Since there are lots of possibilities (Battery, sensor, moisture), I think the best thing to do is disable the alarm.

As it is a factory fit alarm, you've probably got an insurance discount for the alarm. If you disable it, in the eyes of your insurer, you are making the car less secure and more easy to steal. Check with your insurer.

Quite true, but I'm intending to replace it.

If you lock the car using the key in the door the alarm won't set.
