Hi All,

I have had a little search around but cannot see any info on this, sorry if i have missed this.

I have acquired to my driveway a little 2009 1.0 Aygo with a gone head gasket.

It does start at present, but blows back through the cooling system, and there is oil in water / water in oil with the old mayo in the oil cap.

Local garage have quoted the owner £1100 for the head gasket replacement, which he cant afford, so i offered to help out with the job, i have changed a few head gaskets on other cars and do all work myself (we have a corolla verso so have some experience with Toyota's - 5th gear failure etc).

Im just looking for advice from anyone who may have done the job themselves, as to rough timescales / things to be aware of etc.

Im going to try and lay hands on a service manual, to see if i need anything particular to start the job.

Any advice you guys can offer, i would be grateful of.

thanks in advance

then go to repair repair manuals

you need to set up an account (free)

the repair manual is chargeable you pay for a set amount of time

you will be able to read the manual and make a note of torque setting and see any procedures that

need to be followed and any tools that maybe needed.

hope this helps you

As old school as it sounds they do a Haynes workshop manual for the Aygo could be the best £20 you you ever spend 👍🏻
