Hilux 2013 D-4D advice on buying...?

Hi all. 

I need some advice - my 235k VX is going to be replaced as per Instructions from my Home Office. I'm looking at a 2013 Hilux Invincible 3ltr. Read lots of Good Things and then found a blog on the Toyota Blog Site where loads of bad mouthing on performance, power, comfort etc was bandied about. I have known old Hilux in my past life in Africa where they were workers....but - I need long and short distance muscle which is comfy, reasonably quiet and works like the Ronseal tin ad. Can anyone advise? I'd hugely appreciate it - you don't want to spank +/- 20k on a "good" one. Cheers, Bertie

Got a new invincible in Feb, yes dog slow, but better now the engine has freed up.  Now fitted a Steinbauer power box, boom, this is how it should be!!! 

Go on the HPOC forum, lots of info there.
