Not sure how many of you have experienced this but it is, by all accounts, not uncommon.

Mr T almost had me paying daft money to resolve the problem...

Until I decided to take a blowtorch and a hammer and bash the sh*t out of the caliper and other sticky bits...

Problem solved, and it cost absolutely nothing. Fantastic.

just found out i had this yesterday.

Gonna cost about 80quid or so in labour to sort it out.

Not too bad as ima getting my speedo cable replaced, and pads changed in this aswell.

Only the backs need replacing but front pads rnt that expensive so ima get them both done.

i like your style :D -but caliper kits are available ,and you really need to pop out the piston and clean it and the surrounding area. also clean the slides which the caliper slides on. any splits in any rubber seals will result in caliper sticking again.

jus for info i found another good way of shakin up the caliper system and thats to engage the ABS system, take the car to 80 or 90 (on your private runway of course) and slam the brakes and in my case the brakes really felt much better afterwards. The rapid vibrations really get all the crap out of the calipers.

doh! lol, mind you in day to day driving youre probs better off without ABS, it gets really annoying sometimes (dunno if thats the case for all cars or just mr2s). Though in the rain and ice of course its a life-saver B)

toyota celica breakers will provide a refurbed caliper for £50 although they do ask for a £25 extra deposit which is refunded when the broken one is received by them
