Decided it was time to change the standard seats with these, should be here next week

OMP seats

Ordered universal runners, no doubt there will be considerable swearing before they're in

I saw a preview show about Euro 2004 on TV at dinnertime.

In the Stadium where the final is being held, the seats in the dugouts are all Recaro bucket seats. COOL. :D

Nice mate

Yeah Rich, those seats at the Stadium of Light are the same ones used in Ferraris, unlike the ones at Sunderlands Stadium of Light, which are out of a 1960's Mini Clubman :lol::ph34r:

Well my seats turned up at work 8.30 this morning, got to about 10 and one of the lads said he wanted to have a look at em. Opened the boxes and two different designs and two drivers side <_< . Decided I liked the design of the wrong one more than what I ordered as they had vinyl wear patches and was beginning to regret not spending the extra :(

Rang up Demon Tweeks to sort it out and I'm getting another one of the more expensive ones delivered tomorrow at no extra cost cos of the inconvenience :P

On a side note, they look as though they'll be an absolute t :censor: t to fit ;)

Let us know how much trouble you have, coz i have a set of seats waiting to go in to mine too!

Posted

Had the day off today so took old seats out of car. Measured them up etc and with a bit of luck I can take the brackets where they bolt to the floor off the old subframes with an angle grinder, mount them onto the universal runners I've bought and then mount the seats on to the runners with some 25mm box section steel I got from B&Q today. Thats getting powder coated by my mate tomorrow and with a bit of luck they should be in by sunday ;) Unless my measurements are wrong then I'm f :censor: d

Well I finally managed to get them in, to be honest it's a nightmare of a job :(

You need to drill/grind/hacksaw the mounts off the old subframes get it all measured up, try them in, swear a lot, measure up again, try them in, swear a lot again before bolting these to the new runners, etc etc etc

Unless you're pretty used to messing about with power tools and have a bit of know how I wouldn't even attempt it. Me I'm just stupid and will have a go at anything

And to top the weekend off, the rear strut mount I had fitted six weeks ago has gone again :censor: :censor: :censor:  Poor design, so gonna try summat else ;)

Sounds like fun!! Mine should be exciting then... :help:

Just had a quick look at mine, I think I'm going to need custom mounts - I might have to give it to a local modding place - don't really want to but it does look like a nightmare.

I take it you have to saw the mounts off the original runners? Guess this leaves the old seats useless? You chucking yours?

Get some pics of yours in there btw!!

hi you lot!

Blimey, you two are mad i love both sets of seats that you've put in your seos but the effort of getting them in!!!!! :o

I was thinking about a seat replacement in mine but me thinks unless i can get it into a decent modding place a retrim might be the best option!!!! ;)

Si, make sure you get no grubby marks on those seats or there could be a B :censor: H of a clean up op on those!!!

Hope everyone is ok in here.

Take it easy,

Matt

p.s. Ive ordered spax springs and clear side repeaters will post pics soon to show you what it all looks like fitted, as well as kit will be ordered soon!!!! (hopefully if all goes well!!!)
