Hi all,

Apparently my car has rear parking sensors. My car is Toyoa Auris VVT-i 2008.

I can't hear anything when I reverse (and I am not deaf ha!) so wondering how does it turn on? Or What to do?

If it has rear parking sensors, there will be four sensors installed in the rear bumper (circular sensors approx 2.0cm in diameter - if these aren't visible from the outside of the car, you don't have rear parking sensors.

Often there is a switch hidden behind one of the interior panels in the boot where one can disable the rear parking sensors if, for example, one is towing. Have a look behind the open-able panels which give access to the rear light clusters.

One can test whether they are working by turning the ignition on, without starting the engine, select reverse, and get someone to walk across and close to the rear of the car, and, unless they're disabled, one should be able to hear the sensors beeping
