I'm having difficulty with the above light control.

Problem: The light control switch (press 3 x for brightness up/down) has no effect.

Checking Setup brings up Display on screen. Touching Display does not bring up the Day Mode panel which may or may not have an effect on the light control switch.

Where am I going wrong?

thanks

The brightness control is only in effect when the lights are on.  When the lights are off the MFD and Combination Meter are at full brightness.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the response.

What's MDF & Combination Meter mean?

Situation: 1. Power up  > turn lights on > Setup > Display > No Day/Night mode box to check.   (Only General >  Brightness/Contrast box)

                 2. Lights on > Power up > Setup > Display >          ditto                                          (ditto)

Neither 1. or 2. reacts to Brightness Control button.

regards

MIkeS

The brightness control button to which you refer is the button that is on the bottom right of the MDF image above -- the one marked km/h MPH, correct?

Try this, although I don't think it should make a difference:

Power up (IG-ON or READY Mode)  > Setup > Display > No Day mode is on screen.

Turn lights on > Day Mode button appears on screen centre top.

Press button to activate day mode. Press again to deactivate.

[EDIT] I just noticed you have a 2015 (with T&G??) so your milage may vary.

Hi Joseph,

Nice Pics. Just like on my 2007 model. I bought the 2015 year a few months ago. The screen layout etc is different and not for the better imo.

The day/night mode panel simply refuses to appear. Lights on/lights off, power on/off, I've tried every possible combination.   *&^%$%.

It'll be back to the Toyota dealer on Monday.

regards

MikeS
