Hello everybody. Sorry for my english. I am an albanian girl who is going to buy a 2005 Corolla 1.4 diesel d4d car. The trasmission is mmt. But I heard now that this type of trasmittion is very problematic. Can someone please help me what to do? I have a period of time to test the car and I am thinking of buying it. I have test it for several miles and everything seems to be ok. Should I buy this car or not?  I just love the car but I am afraid now. We do not have good specialists of toyota cars here in Albania.

The MMT isn't a conventional automatic gearbox - being a manual with automated clutch. The main issues are they can be expensive to repair if they go wrong and not all garages will touch them.

A manual Corolla may be the better choice where you are.

Don't buy the Multi Mode Transmission (MMT). It will give you trouble sooner or later and it's usually a Toyota dealer only job with expensive hourly rates and full price for any spares required. Type in MMT in the search box at the top right hand of the page and press Enter where you'll see many many posts about this troublesome MMT.
