Have you actually tested and got good oil pressure to the turbo, or are you going by the fact that your oil pressure light isn't lit?

Not trying to sound condescending, just need to know if you're a hands on kinda guy, or usually leave this stuff to a garage.

The coking on the bearing does suggest a lack of oil flow to the turbo, causing an overheating problem. But on the other hand, if the turbo cooling system isn't working as it should either, then this would cause the turbo to overheat too. Then the oil will coke up.

I wouldn't go changing out parts like pumps, unless you definitely know they are faulty. Check the easy things first, like the hoses that carry the oil to the turbo. They can get gummed up with sludgy oil deposits and restrict the oil flow.
