Hi All,

Just bought a 2002 corolla t sport and would liek to put some different alloys on.

I have a set of 17" alloys with 225/45/17, does anyone know if this will fit? its on standard springs, so plenty of arch to fill!

also if these will fit, does anyone know the most i can lower it? ive heard that i will only be able to take it down 30mm if i run the bigger alloys...

any help appreciated, thanks!

any idea?

Try your alloys on your car, then you will know if they fit. 30mm drop shouldn't cause any issue.

im waiting for some slimmer bolts to arrive, hence why i asked as i cant really test them yet!

do you know of any other issues bigger wheels may cause or have a build thread?

17's should be fine. Obviously if you plan on lowering more than 30mm you may have issues with rubbing, maybe better of with 205/215's width tyres.

yeah ive had a trawl through the forum and it seems that 225/45/17 will be fine with a 30mm drop but rubs on 40mm when cornering and with passengers :l

thanks again man.

It's worth also considering the offset of the new rims - if they don't match they wont fit and its really not the best idea to be using spacers, they can result in some quite costly repairs.

Hi Cookeh,

yeah i have had the wheel on the car now, the offset is a HPO at about 35-40mm, i wont ever be running spacers!

After doing a bit of research 225 width is about the biggest i can have on my PFL t sport, and 30mm lowered...
