also i understand it'll def need a Cat 1 alarm?

with it being an import or a "grey" import as some places call 'em it does usually increase the insurance.

You could try using Direct Line's online quote facility - if it handles imports that is.

Direct Line as supposed to be quite good for imports though - due to years ago starting their own car import business "JamJar".

online dont support the import option. and it closed tomorrow being that i am looking at one

NEVER do your insurance online.

Ring them up and speak to a real person.

When you get an online quote, it's in the form of..'here's the price. Take it or leave it'. If you ring up then deals can be negotiated.

OK, they might just be in a call centre, but they are trained to be helpful. If there is a deal to be done then they will find it and call you back. That's what direct line did with me.

I'm with Tescos which is also Direct Line - they seem good on imports from what I've read on here. Tesco cost slightly less (for me anyway) than Direct Line although it's the same company / policy.

Im with direct line, just got my insurance renewed 2 days ago, got a great quote, almost £500 cheaper than last year. They have always been great with me.

Dorset went from £1,000 to £1,400 with me .. and that was with no incidents in the 12 months ..
