CVT Transmission, D and S Modes

Anyone know much much about the CVT transmission in the cars that went to the US?

For example, Can I use "S" for engine braking as a regular part of driving - like shifting to "S" ahead of every stop sign? Are the transmissions meant to be used that way - sort of like a two-speed shift? Love this car and don't want to damage anything. Engine braking and driving like a two speed is kind of fun.

Anyone just drive in "S" all the time to keep the engine rpms higher? Higher RPMS keeps the CVT in that zone where it will accelerate faster. Some call it "Sport mode"?

Thanks,

Felkers

No one seems to know much about CVTs. I like the CVT.  Wish they wouldn't have put in the fake shift points (they think US drivers need to feel a transmission shift occasionally)
