Paint protection

Not sure what other people's view is on the paint protection films that you can get now, but I decided to have the front of my new Excel done due to the water based paints that they use now. The front of my Gen 3 looked a bit sad after only three years. I have just had mine done by Paintguard, ( Others are available ) because it is the only one in my area, and I am really impressed, unless you looked really close you wouldn't notice that it had been done. I had the full bonnet and the Wing mirrors plus the whole of the front of the car. For the peace of mind that it gives you especially on motorway driving I think that it is worth it, anyone have views on this ?

What can you actually see if you look close?

If you look at the edge of the area covered unless it is wrapped around the panel you can just see the line of the protective film, which is why it is best to get the whole bonnet covered as opposed to a partial covering which some people opt for.

Chips Away has a view on this, some good a lot bad.

Worth a read first.

My Rav4 vinyl around the front has stone chips, and touching them up with the vinyl covering looks a mess.
