Hello guys

 

Just wanted to check in with hello, Looking for an auris sr 180 in the next few months and wanted to join up first to get some advise and tips.

Hi Nathan & welcome to TOC 

You should be aware of the potential head/headgasket issue on AD series engines up until Sept 2009 for Auris. Whilst only a very small % develop it possibly the more powerful the version the more prone they seem to be. The officially sanctioned fix (essentially a replacement engine minus ancillaries) would cost more than the car is worth.

Personally, I would only buy 1 from a trader/dealer as that gives you  far better consumer protection in the event that it turned out to have (or develop within a few months) the issue - a private sale essentially has no comeback. But that is me & I admit to being conservative (small "c" ).
