Mk 1 Avensis door protector strips

Hi all – On my Mk 1 Avensis the plastic door protector strips (on the outside of the doors) are curling up away from the bodywork – this gets worse in cold weather but has progressively got worse over the years to the point where this stops the doors opening fully as they touch against the bodywork or door in front.

Has anyone replaced them? How much do they cost? How easy is it? Or any other suggestions?

Could try heating them and bending the them back?

I had the same problem with my old 1998 Mk1, and the ends jammed into the front wing and broke off. This happened to the right side strips only, so I got replacements from a phase2 mk1 Avensis. Got double sided tape to refit. The early version has only two locating pegs on the front door trim, whist the later version has a central peg. I had to cut off the extra peg before fitting onto the door.

I did try the heat treatment but the trim was too far gone, and as mentioned earlier had broken.
