Outer door trims

Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone can advice me on this one I've got a 96 hilux surf 3.0 ssrx auto and I want to take off the outer lower plastic door panels so that I can respray them , I can see that the wheel arch ones bolt on under the arch but how do I get the ones off the doors do they just clip off or are they fixed on from the inside of the doors behind the door cards I don't want to start to pull them in case I break them or the clips
