The power steering on my 2007 Aygo has packed up (still drive-able). My local garage has discovered that there is no power from the ECU to the pump, quoting £500 to fix. Has anyone had any experience of fixing this problem another way? Or any advice where I can go to get it fixed cheaper?

I'm not being funny, but that sounds a bit steep if it's only the ecu that's faulty.

This link is for information only, as eBay can be a mixed bag, but it does suggest that an ecu fix is not particularly expensive.

REPAIR SERVICE TOYOTA AYGO POWER STEERING ECU

Obviously that doesn't include fitting, but I can't imagine more than a couple of hours labour. After somebody's attempt at replacing the ventilation fan motor recently, I could be totally wrong lol.

Depends how small the spaces are and how big the hands are. I'm a big guy with big hands and I struggle to do some things with my 107.

The ECU doesn't seem to be in that much of an inaccessible place. But there seems to be a lot to come up before you get to it, as it's in front of the gearstick under the heater controls.
