hi, i bought about a month ago a 2003 toyota avensis (old one) with 2.0l D4...the car has about 179K miles...i notice that when i stop and floor it...the car doesn't pull hard...it's slow and i mean really slow until 3000rpm and then you feel a kich and it starts to go...this isn't only from a stand still...even if you're going about 10-15 mph and floor it or even press hard it behaves the same...until 3000 rpm there is no go...then you feel a kick and it starts to go.....i have done a computer check and everything is fine...coils and plugs are fine...what is the problem?! THANKS

If it is the diesel try checking the movement of the vane actuator round the back of the turbo. If its sticking that might cause that problem as the turbo cant kick in properly

D4 direct injection petrol. A few things to look at are: maf sensor, vvti system, and general service. A blocked catalytic converter, or the O2 sensors could be possible issues. What are the emissions like? Check all the connections.

Try pulling the EFI fuse for a minute, so the car relearns settings.
