Hi All,

i noticed this a couple of weeks ago when i started my car on a hill, wehn trying to pull off no matter how hard i pressed on my accellerator the car wouldnt rev. after about 3 seconds it started and the car moved on fine.

i noticed it again today, only this time not starting on a hill, i probably encpountered the hill after about 30 seconds of driving and when pulling off i experienced the same issue of no accelleration. ive read about nd alot of people say its the MAF sensor, has anyone had the same issue or have any idea what this could be? the car has just been serviced (sparks, filters etc) and also had a new clutch and rear main oil seal.

any help appreciated

just cleaned the MAF with a wet cloth and it already seems more spritely, no hill start issue as of yet...

ive see that it could be fuel pump or throttle body sensor, anyone know hwere throttle body sensor is located on a t sport and if i can just unscrew it and clean in a matter of minutes like the MAF?

Have you got some daft CAI or anything else like that on it? Could potentially lead to some MAF issues.

Glad you sorted buddy👍 my mate who works on T Sports uses some new spray stuff on sensors. He's away at that the minute but I'll ask when he's back! Says it's from America or somewhere like that.

yeah havent had the issue again yet, the idle still stils around 1000-1500 when cold and 600-800 when hot, so im going to give the throttle body a clean tonight

Idle sounds about right in fairness, certainly on par with mine and its been like that since I got her 9 months ago, through a service and a check by an indy.

You say that as if its not right ..?  when cold it keeps the revs higher, like the choke of old.

If it was keeping the revs at 1000-1500 when hot then yes you might need to clean the throttle body /valve flap

Ahh okay, Ive gone ahead and cleaned the throttle body and chucked a bit of the cleaner into the air intake, throttle response is slightly better but the idle is still the same.

Im clearly mistaken, i thought that idling at 700-800 was a bit low, just sometimes you can feel the car shudder. so far since cleaning the MAF and throttle body i havent had any hesitation, if so i will probably have to see if there are any codes popping up, if not then a new idle speed sensor

Thanks for your help guys.
