Auris D4D Tuning Box or Remap?

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum! I've been following things since getting my Auris just over a year ago.  After having a few issues with the starting (still not entirely resolved) I'm looking at getting the 2.0 litre lump remapped or using a tuning box.

I have a remap company (Black Code) just round the corner from me for ease but I've also been looking at tuning boxes for their resale value after I've had the pleasure of driving with the car.

Any recommendations you guys have would be great.

Many thanks

Gareth

Could have a look at the tuning box that one of the club's sponsors sell - https://www.lindoptoyota.co.uk/

Send a personal message to Parts-King.

A remap is much better for the vehicle than a tuning box ... however you have to tread even more carefully having your vehicle remapped ... make sure the company will do bespoke mapping taking into account mileage, the fuel you use, how it's driven etc and then what sort of thing your looking for.

Tuning boxes are very good at being able to remove and replace at your will but some tuning boxes cost more than a remap.

Thanks for the replies, I have been looking at DTUK, Tunit and the Lindop boxes. I'll have to have a better look at the remapper in my area though. Would you guys recommend any remap a to go with or definitely avoid?

Make sure it's bespoke ... the 2.0 is difficult to map ... I had mine done with DRS Cornwall ... it's out the way for most but they do travel about doing events etc ....
