Has anyone changed the buttons in the fob ????

this is the old one that was used all the time, the buttons have popped out and are all faded. The black rubber inside bit doesn't see to come off. seen plenty of buttons on the bay, just not sure how to replace em

Similar problem on our old Corolla. I cut the buttons from an old VCR remote keypad. Works a treat and the dealer thought they were great the first time they saw it.

I have never change the button of a key fob, but looking at the your dismantled key and the replacement buttons, it should be straight forward.

There should be remnants of the the old rubber buttons, still in part of the key. Remove that and install the new buttons.

Here is a video showing the process -

So just get the rubber part and while you are at it change the Battery. I have two keys and change them one at a time and test before changing the second key Battery. This is because one of the keys may not sync properly, so it is best to have the other key fully working.

By the way, are you monitoring the oil level of the engine. Hopefully it is not on e of the oil burning engines and being '05, has been modified from factory.
