Done a check on the fuel filter to see if it was clogged done a diesel purge car was getting hard to start (been like that a while) little white smoke when revving hard.so I think there's air in the fuel system.how do I bleed the air out? Is it through the fuel lines into injectors?

You don’t want to start loosening off injector pipes, the common rail system is self bleeding. There’s been so much going on with your car Frankie, are you absolutely sure you don’t have an air leak in the fuel filter or any of the pipe joints? With the dirty fuel previously in the system it might be trying to burn off too many pollutants. Could it also be trying a DPF regen?

White smoke can be caused by a lot of things including retarded timing but if the cetane value of your fuel has become lowered with oxidisation and diluted with biocide then that can give you the same effect as retarded timing. Don’t you think it needs to be run to get all the old stuff out then fill up with fresh fuel and use some additives in it?

No dpf in my car.I've checked the fuel lines from filter no leaks..was thinking either air in the system or the dirty fuel. once its started it runs fine but once I switch off and try to restart it gets hard to start.2,3 or 4 times to get it to run its almost like the Battery is dying?

Sucking the old fuel out in the morning & sticking fresh stuff in.
