Hey guys.

Recently got a 91 ST185 and have a slight problem.

History might help as i reckon it could be a couple of things.

Full Toyota service history. 117K on the clock. Full stainless 3inch Scorpion exhaust. Blitz air filter and dump valve. Aftermarket boost guage. No other mods that i can find. (yet!!)

(Incidentally, the boost guage is reading 6psi at full bore. Is this about right?)

The problem is what appears to be a slight misfire on full boost. Although it has been suggested to me that it could be a fuel related problem. Also there is an occasional backfire on the overun from medium to high revs. The symptoms are there all the time wet or dry although i think it might be worse when wet. Not really had much rain.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Dak

Change the plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm, and fuel filter. 99% of GT4 misfires/hesitations are caused by these items being worn.

6 psi is about right, possibly a little low which would be consistent with the age of your turbo.
