MOT shock and 3 months ownership update

Hello all, thought I would update after 3 months of ownership of my d4d facelift, she went in for the MOT yesterday and to my amazement just went straight through with no advisories! I'm very happy to say the least after being mainly a VW/Audi owner in the past it's a nice change lol! My wife's polo newer and lower milage failed terribly the day before! I have been running the digital tuning  box for a couple of months now and have seen a good improvement in fuel usage and drivability and no ill affects.

Think I have got to the bottom of the lazy starting issue I still get occasionally first start in the mornings after I went to the car the other day and the Battery gave up after 2 turns of the key so guessing the Battery is shot and not giving the cranking speed needed when the engine is cold. Will be replacing this in the next couple of weeks and a full service as reward for the easy MOT pass. I usually change cars regularly but think I will be hanging onto this one! I'm hoping as she is only at 98k and don't do many miles she will last me a good few years, On the lookout for some standard 17" alloys to Finish her off!

Halfords do free Battery checks they check the cold cranking amps.

you should be able to get a Battery from www.eurocarparts.com make sure you use a discount code current one is sale30 I recommend Bosch batteries.

tyres are cheaper on the 16" wheels as 205 55 16 is a common size

I have a Battery tester when I get time but it's definitely past its best losing charge in warm weather after just a few days without being driven, I know the 16" tyres are cheaper but the 17" wheels seem to suite the avensis better being a large car.
