I had to change the windscreen recently on my Mk2. While cleaning the inside of the glass, I felt a sharp edge around the lower part of the rear view mirror fixing. Looking at it I think there is a cover missing; either the fitter lost it or forgot to put it back on.

To resolve this could anyone who can take the trouble, check the attached picture and compare it to theirs and let me know it mine is normal?

PS went to the local dealer, they had no Mk2 for sale and spare parts couldn't help

much appreciated

All I can say mate is that I have just looked at mine and it's totally different shape to yours, mine is a 4:2 but a 2004 so must of changed them at 2004 , hopefully someone with a 2003 will get back to you.
