K&n filter issues

HI I installed a k&n filter into my 2006 corolla s, and I have a slight dilemma. I have an extra hose that was from the factory air box and nothing to connect it to. in none of the photos does it show the hose and I cant find any help online or reviews on the filter.

can anyone help suggest what to do?

I think the hose is there is you want to take the air in from another part of the engine bay. It's not required, but you could use it to suck air in from a part of the engine bay that gets colder air than what the filter would get where it is.

you can get small mushroom air filters to put into this spare hose...

seen this on a few cars

im sure your get them on eBay
