How can I make my t sport handle better?

Hi all,

I love the performance my t sport corolla gives but I have to admit the handling at full standard set up is poor.  And tips or advice form the best ways to improve my handling.

Just lowered my T-sport 30mm on Eibach springs and have been impressed overall, body roll has been improved by atleast 80%.

Tyres and suspension. Simple as that. Avoid a thicker arb up-front, will only increase understeer. Avoid lowering-springs if you want to do it properly - they'll reduce bodyroll a bit but compromise all other aspects of the ride. Best bet would be a good set of fully adjustable coilovers, but then these cars are worth so little now that there is little point in spending 1/3-1/2 of the cars value on mods.

If you must do something, get some good tyres (CSC5s, for example) and try and find some second hand coilovers.

"At least 80%", really? Love to know how you figured that, does your backside actually come with a computational engine and accelerometers built in? Make it believable and just state that they have improved bodyroll in a noticeable way - at least that is qualifiable and can translate into some real world understanding as opposed to some random number you pulled from the tip of your tongue.

Well was gonna say 70% but thought 80% sounded better🙄

Honestly though these springs have dramatically improved things to the extent that now when cornering hard I get no beeping from the VSC whereas on the standard springs it would.

I run uniroyal rainsport 3's which help.

Also I have to disagree about lowering springs compromising all other aspects of the ride, for me they have improved things, less body roll, more stability at higher speeds and less wallowy.

As said our cars are not worth that much and it's hard to justify over £700 for coilovers unless you are planning on track days etc.

Lovely,  thank you for the advise!   What about strut braces and anti role bars.  I was told this would help quite alot by a friend with a yaris t sport?

Front ARB will increase understeer, no-one wants that in a FWD front heavy car. Strut brace for a Corolla would just be bling, pretty hard to push it (legally) to the point you'd notice any difference. If you're tracking it, then it could help a little bit.
