Electrical issues

Hello, new here! I changed my car at the beginning of the year as my seat Leon was just not practical or powerful enough. So now i have a 2L diesel avensis estate. I really like the car it drives well and the space is fab. However over the last month lots of little electrical faults keep appearing. The first (and not so little) is the rear parking sensors. They now just emit a constant buzz, quite annoying. But since then here is what else has gone wrong - auto lights no longer turn off at end of journey, fuel low warning at 50 no longer works, annoying alarm to tell you your keys are still in ignition no longer works and lights are still on at end of journey warning buzz (when not on auto) no longer works. I know the answer is take it to a garage but i just wondered what could be wrong. Are these things connected electronically somehow? Any ideas and theories welcome. Many thanks

I suspect that all is not well with the binnacle. Identifying whether the feeds to the multi-socket are active will be interesting. Replacing the unit for a salvaged part might be a consideration depending on price. An auto-electician might offer a fixed price diagnosis but you may need to phone around. Avoid the dealership unless you have deep pockets..

A faulty drivers door pin switch would cause all but the fuel level issue as if the car can't see the door opening it can't:

Turn off the auto lights which normally go out when you open the door

Key in ignition warning should only sound with the door open if it can't see an open door it won't sound

Same applies to the lights on warning

As for the fuel level indicator this only comes on when there is approx 10 litres of fuel left in the tank it does not use the Range left as a trigger for the fuel low warning
