Engine swap 2.2 D-CAT 177hp

Hello, 

I'm going to change the engine in my Avensis 2.2 D-CAT 150 hp 2009 year.

I bought a complete engine 2.2 177hp from Toyota avensis 2013 year(black top cover of engine).

Now my question:

- Is possible to start new engine with my old ECU 150hp? 

- How to reprogram the ECU with 150hp to 177 hp (maybe only re - map is enough ) ?

- Whether in case of problems with the start, I need to just buy the ECU with keys from 177hp version and car will work properly? 

- is there someone who did that before and can tell me what else is necessary to change in this engine swap to 177 hp?

I'd probably say you would need the ecu from the donor car as the 150bhp might not have the proper software/maps.

they have different types of injectors afaik so I too imagine that you probably need the other car's ECU.

It seems like a lot of work so may I ask, why? Do you just want more power, has your existing engine died or are you repairing a crashed car?

Hei,  thanks for answers. I doing that because my engine have 430 000 km. And if I want drive little longer I need new engine. Alsow I wanted to try 177hp engine with some power box or new fuel maps.

So I need:

- Ecu

- immobiliser with keys? (or is possible to put old keys in to new ecu?) 

- Fuse box?

- injector ecu? 

I want start doing my project in September. I will send some photos after I hope everything will work after swap :) 

 

if we compare the engine of my car with the one who bought it there is not much difference in the numbers section

Is your car a mk2 (T25) or mk 3 (T27)?
