Looking to buy an auris SR 180 how do i know if recalls done?

so ive done my research and looked at the common faults that these cars have and im happy enough to go ahead any buy one.however how can i tell if the car has had the recalls done on it can i just phone up a dealership and ask them to check the reg number?im looking at an 08 plate one this week and the guy is selling it on behlaf of his now dead dad so doesnt know if any of the recalls have been done
