Another bad example. It's a real shame as it detracts from an otherwise decent vehicle.

Toyota really do need to address this problem, even for vehicles out of warranty. Hopefully we can get a few more responses from owners.

This is my 2009 TR Tourer passenger door

The following is the following is the drivers door which is far worse -

I have noticed a new line appearing from the left bolt. Notice it is less rusty.

Sorry about the photos orientation. Every application recognises it is portrait or at least lets you adjust, but even of I rotated before attaching, the still come out landscape!

I have greased the bar to reduce the stress, minutes after these pictures. I also added washers to help spread the load

What Toyota need to do is provide moulded plates for inner and outer side of the door to be installed. The inner bracket would have to reach another part of the door to provide even more support.

Even with the larger washers the metal flexes, but less so. Heavy doors and thin metal is not a great mix!

Worse on the drivers door ahhhh, your problem Konrad is that you just don't know your own strength

If it's an UK car a 2012 has a 5 year/100k miles warranty. Unless you have gone over 100k miles it should still be in warranty today.

Was referring to the 3 year bodywork warranty rather than the full 5 year warranty?

Just for clarification, the three year warranty isn't bodywork.

Toyotas sold by Toyota GB since July 2010 come with:

1. a five year/100,000 mile mechanical warranty,

2. a twelve year anti corrosion and perforation warranty

3. a three year paintwork and surface rust warranty.

As the door cracks are neither rust perforation, paintwork or surface rust issues, but to do with the structure of the door, I would imagine the structural issue would be dealt with under the five year warranty.
